sharing

While I was researching "borrowing" websites (which enable the sharing of items in a community), I came across this video report on many cool sites that have options for trading, renting, borrowing or giving away stuff. I was familiar with some of the sites they mentioned, but was also surprised to see many others that were new to me. The eco-ness is pretty obvious, I think. Plus, sharing is just plain nice.

Thanks for posting the video on your blog. I enjoyed watching it - as I missed that day on the today show. I also built one of the give away sites around wishing and granting people's wishes. It combines kindness, saving money in these hard economic times, and being GREEN - passing on your no longer wanted/needed items. Your readers and yourself might find it helpful in these hard economic times too. Thanks again.

Thanks for the link - I too was surprised at some of the sites I didn't know about - especially the borrowing sites.

I've been yapping about a borrowing list for friends for at least a year now, and just came across neighborrow in the past week! How great that you put this post up right now. I'm still not psyched about the look of it, but I'll check it out again. I also will look at the borrowing circle site - don't know anything about that one.
It's just such a natural thought, particularly for those items you just don't use every day! Thanks for writing about it...
